Office holiday party etiquette tips

There's always one person at the office holiday party who gets a little too festive. A few tips can help you keep your dignity (and your job) intact. Dress appropriately; it's still a business function, but you can add a little glitz, such as a satin top. Above all, avoid the spiked eggnog, or limit your drinks to one or two. "Your bosses are observing the way you interact in a social situation," says the etiquette trainer Joanne Blake. "They'll assume that's how you are when you're out with a client." So even if Bob from HR is dressed up as Santa, you don't have to sit in his lap.
