Time is a precious resource in today's busy world. In the blur between the morning commute and the after-dinner homework rush, there just don't seem to be enough hours in the day. There's an old saying that time is money. But flip that around, and consider this—your money shouldn't take up all your time! Here are three simple and straightforward banking tips to help save you time, and maybe even a little money, too:

Bank online. If you're not banking online, you're probably wasting a lot of time waiting in line. Online banking has never been more safe and secure—or more convenient. You can pay bills and postdate payments so you won't forget. Need to confirm whether that cheque was cashed? No need to shuffle through those papers, you can access your transaction history online for a year or more.

Bank on your mobile phone. Yes, there's an app for that! Banking smartphone apps allow you to check your account balances, pay bills, or transfer funds wherever you are, bringing your banking literally to your fingertips. Mobile banking apps use the same high-tech encryption and technologies as online banking. You can even use your phone's GPS to find nearby bank machines for convenient access on the run.

Set up automatic bill payments on your credit card. Did you know you can set up your utility, telephone, cable, internet, health club, insurance, and other bills to be paid automatically from your credit card? Never miss a bill payment again! All you need to do is contact your service providers to arrange it. Another great thing about this is you can earn rewards points on your spending if your card is linked to a rewards program.
