The Chatelaine Book Club recently had the pleasure of spending the evening with the brilliant Rachel Joyce, author of our August Book Club Pick, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.

While guests munched on delicious English faves like fish 'n' chips at The Oxley Public House in Toronto, Rachel read from her debut novel (which was just long-listed for the Man Booker Prize) and discussed her writing process and how super-supportive her family have been (her husband and children also joined us for the gathering). Later, Rachel graciously signed copies of the book for the many book bloggers who attended the event and chatted about the book's unexpected success.

The Chatelaine Book Club is thrilled to have met Rachel, and we'd like to thank Random House Canada for co-hosting this wonderful event. We'd also like to thank The Oxley Public House and their wonderful staff.

Stay tuned for more events like this in the future from the Book Club!
