Miss timmins

Our next book club pick, Miss Timmins' School for Girls, is set in 1970s India and even in the far-reaching corners of Maharashtra, drugs, sex and rock 'n roll are catching on. Our protagonist, the mild-mannered teacher Charu Apte, is seduced by the music of Bob Dylan, the Doors and Cat Stevens. We've rounded up our favourite chart-toppers from that decade to set the mood as you read.
