Hello Spring! I know you're hiding under that snow somewhere. And while you've suffered a temporary setback today in Toronto and on the West Coast, we know you will survive. Because spring is in the air. Case in point, when I got to my desk this morning, a beautiful assortment of home fragrance products by Crabtree & Evelyn was waiting for me. The company is launching their new Floral Fragrance Collection (hitting the stores in March) that is made up of four fragrances: lily, lavender, rosewater and iris. I've had the pleasure of smelling the iris before, and was enchanted with the delicate floral scents of the three others. The home products include fragrance sprays, candles, reed diffusers, sachets, hangers, oils and my favourite, scented drawer lining paper. Makes me think of waking up at my grandmothers stone house in the country, and pulling a linen shirt out of a drawer before heading down the creaky wooden stairs for cafe au lait and blueberry buttermilk muffins. All of this is purely fictional of course, but just goes to show the power of a good scent.

On that note, I thought I would try something new. The first 20 readers to email me at askvirginie@chatelaine.rogers.com will receive $4 off of the admission price of Canada Blooms, the flower and garden festival, taking place in Toronto March 16th to 20th.
