Texting to Help Haiti

By Leanne
The subject of this post has absolutely nothing to do with cancer, other than to possibly try to keep it in perspective: I have a rather macabre mental list of Things That Are Worse Than Having Cancer (it keeps me from feeling sorry for myself) and being a victim of the Haitian Earthquake is on that list.  Of course it's not just me – everyone has Haiti on the brain these days, which is exactly where it must stay until the international community has stabilized that country in a lasting and meaningful way.  In the mean time, there are a number of agencies accepting donations, and I just learned of one of the very easiest and fastest ways to help -- texting REDCROSS to 30333 will instantly donate $5 to Red Cross Haitian aid.  Want to donate more?  Do it daily instead of buying a gigantic latte, or donate online at www.redcross.ca/helpnow, or by calling toll free 1-800-418-1111.
