Five Halloween treats you don't have to avoid Hershey

When it comes to treats the words healthy and Halloween may seem as though they don’t belong together. But we’ve discovered that your candy options don’t have to be frightfully high in sugar or calories. There are tons of individually wrapped healthier options that are just as tasty. It’s great for the little ghosts and goblins knocking at your door — and for adults who undoubtedly end up indulging in the leftovers.

1. Hershey’s Kisses Special Dark Mildly Sweet Chocolate

Who doesn’t love Hershey’s Kisses? With natural cocoa flavanol antioxidants, this 20-calorie Halloween treat is surprisingly healthy.

2. Mini Tootsie Pops

A beloved classic, each pop contains just 45 calories. Not only are they delicious, they’re a good choice for those with allergies — they’re gluten- and nut-free.

3. Quaker Mini Delights

Pick up a box of these mini packs of delicious whole-grain goodness. Each pack contains only 90 calories, and with their sweet icing topping, little (or big) hands won’t even know it isn't candy.

4. Chocolate Covered Pretzels

This combination of sweet and salty is a classic (and for good reason). Keep serving sizes small (with 100-calorie packs) to ensure kids (and adults) don’t go overboard.

5. Twizzlers Nibs Licorice Snack Pack

Can’t choose between Strawberry Twizzlers and Nibs? Get the snack pack filled with 10 packages of each flavour. A low-fat, low-calorie snack, these are an all-time favourite.
