Greek burgers

Ingredients

  • olive oil

  • 2 frozen beef sirloin burgers, or chicken burgers

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

  • 1 zucchini, coarsely chopped

  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves

  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta

Instructions

  • Lightly coat a large, non-stick frying pan with oil and set over medium-high heat. When hot, add burgers. Cook until browned, 3 minutes per side. Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour in pasta sauce. Add zucchini and oregano. Cover and simmer, without stirring, until burgers are cooked through and zucchini is tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Sprinkle with crumbled feta.

"Fast food" at home is just the ticket when you're trying to beat the clock. And it's easy to make when you start with frozen burgers. If you feel like something saucy try this Greek burger simmered in herbed pasta sauce with fresh tomatoes or zucchini.
