Ingredients
- 6 kaiser or hamburger buns
- 2 tsp canola oil
- 1 small onion , diced
- 1 small green bell pepper , diced
- 3 garlic cloves , minced
- 450 g lean ground beef
- 2 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup passata
- 1 cup canned no-salt black beans , drained and rinsed
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- shredded cheddar cheese , (optional)
- sliced pickles , (optional)
Instructions
- PREHEAT oven to 400F. Place buns, cut-side up, on a baking sheet.
- HEAT oil in large frying pan over medium. Add onion and pepper and cook, stirring until softened, 4 min. Add garlic and cook 1 min.
- ADD beef, chili powder and salt. Cook, breaking up with wooden spoon, until browned, 5 min. Stir in passata, beans and ketchup and cook, stirring until thickened, 4 min.
- TOAST buns until browned, 4 min. Divide beef mixture among bun bottoms. Top with cheese and pickles then, bun tops.
