Keep your guests warm with a deliciously spiced cocktail from expat Aussie Shawn Soole.
750-mL bottle Rioja wine
2/3 cup calvados
1/3 cup Cointreau orange liqueur
2 cinnamon sticks
6 cloves
sprinkle of nutmeg
knob of ginger, thinly sliced
2 oranges, thinly sliced
Stir ingredients in a large saucepan over medium-low. Adjust heat if wine heats up but does not simmer. Serve strained, with orange-wheel garnish.
