• Store spices in airtight containers, such as glass jars, away from direct heat, moisture and sunlight.

• You can check the freshness by aroma—if no longer fragrant, discard.

• Consider dating your bottles. Most ground spices have a shelf lifeof one to two years, but if stored improperly they will deterioratemore quickly.
