Rustic Slow Cooker Applesauce

Rustic Slow Cooker Applesauce Recipe made with Macintosh apples in a bowl

A fragrant, sweet-spiced smell will fill your home while making this delicious applesauce.

Ingredients

  • 10 apples, preferably McIntosh

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp allspice

Instructions

  • Peel, core and quarter 10 apples, about 1.5 kg (McIntosh apples work well). Combine with 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp allspice in slow-cooker insert. Cover and cook until very soft, on high for 3 hours or on low for 4 hours. Mash coarsely with a potato masher. Serve warm, or refrigerate up to 1 week.
