Upgrade that bottle gathering dust in the cupboard with a bit of fall flavour in this simple apple gin recipe (add lavender if you're feeling fancy!)

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, coarsely chopped

  • 1 1/4 cups gin, plus more to cover apples

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1/4 tsp dried lavender

  • hard cider, to serve

Instructions

  • PACK apples into a 1-L glass Mason jar. Add enough gin to cover. Cover with lid. Let stand at room temperature for 1 week.

  • STIR in 1 1/4 cups more gin, honey and dried lavender. Serve strained over ice or top with hard apple cider.
