Christmas decorations aren't your thing? You can still make your home festive with Scandinavian-style wreaths made with materials inspired by what you can find outside your window. All you need is an embroidery hoop, floral wire or twine, greenery and wooden stars and beads to add the finishing touch. Bonus? If you use faux greenery, you won't ever have to take them down.

How to make a scandi-style wreath

All it takes to make this wreath is an embroidery hoop, a couple branches of pine and wooden ornaments fastened to the bottom with string. Embroidery hoop, wood ornaments, Michaels.

Star light, star bright! A couple of wooden stars and a small branch of pine is all you need to create this perfectly pretty wreath. Hang it on the front of your door, or in your window. Stars, Michaels.

Instead of an embroidery hoop, this wreath is made from a branch and wrapped in a eucalyptus sprig. Pinecones add the finishing touch at the bottom.

If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, this wreath is for you. Using a copper rod (available at the hardware store and super easy to cut with a hack saw), string a piece of leather through to hang. Tie yarn on the rod and cut the ends to create a cascading effect. Create a bundle of greenery and attach it to the rod with floral wire.

The simplicity of this wreath is what makes it most enticing. Fasten two air plants to a small emroidery hoop. Loop wooden beads on a piece of leather cord and tie to hang. Embroidery hoop, wooden beads, Michaels.

Fasten stars to individual strands of string, some shorter than others to create variance in length. Tie the bundle to a silver embrodiery hoop and hang with the same twine. We think this would look perfect in a kids’ bedroom after the holidays are over.
